Default .."will be accepted"...

Agree - and childish remarks such as "I don't care what you think" are hardly conducive to intelligent debate.

Default timely warning...

LOL - my troubles to come perhaps - just acquired new mobile with big buttons
as getting everything wrong with the previous tiny ones was driving me nuts
(are you old enough to remember them as big as a brick and with a pull-out aerial?)

When I was in graduate school, I used a hand crank calculator and a rexograph machine (like a mimeograph) because there were no photocopy machines then.

Default life and technology

I don't recognise that brand although I well remember hand-cranking Gestetners
and going through the messy process of refilling the drum with ink.
Actually we have come full circle - the inventor in Twickenham has sold many
of his wind-up portable radios, to be reenergised in remote areas of the world where people are not able to stroll down to the local shop for new batteries.

don't know what the reasoning is with having to sign in. I am hoping it is because I haven't been on for a few weeks. If it is a daily thing then this is my last visit.

Sebbie, when we were growing up, only the government and giant corporations had computers. They took up entire rooms and ran on 360 kb of memory. (IBM360 mainframe)

AND, we walked 10 miles each way to school and both directions were uphill.
