dp was a line of underwear that came out in the 80's by Jockey. They were basically a nylon speedo type brief that came in a variety of colors. The dp stood for double purpose.(swimwear or underwear) New at the time since there was little on the mass market in anything but cotton tighty whiteys in a briefer cut. Since Jockey is an international company, perhaps they are still or again are being made somewhere.

I guess it's just my luck at seeing WP guys in "grandma" type suits.

The pics you guys posted look GREAT!!

I have often times noticed the suits tend to fold into themselves around the waistline which might a suit look "briefer" than it really is. I think that seems to be the case in one of the pics.

Nevertheless, great pics!

Default Yes...

.....the speedo roll-up or roll-down factor can often be confusing in pics , eg the surf lifeboaters at Bondi and elsewhere who want their bum cheeks firmly gripping the seats for rowing.

(and thanks to PSD for brand info - the only dp I knew was an old chain of ladies' fashion shops called Dorothy Perkins)(and remarkably similar)

PS Dave - I loved those underwear/swimwear "suits". Still have two somewhere, but I got them.

Default S water polo

Had my difficulties with P for Purdue and now I have a black suit here - may be an Arena (but not clear) but also with an S on it:

These seem like 2-2.5" suites.

The white guy in the back looks amazing!

They were great suits, I am surprised that someone else remembers them. I was drawn to them for obvious reasons (yellow was the most fun -- see thru when wet) but I was also drawn to them because dp were also my initials so I had monogramed suits. I think I still have a well worn yellow one and a blue one left somewhere.
