Default Speedo underwear

For a brief point in time (no pun intended) Speedo marketed Speedo branded underwear. I think you are seeing that.

Thank you Sebbie,
I am sure that this is a swimsuit, I recall seeing them advertised back then. I remember speedo's attempt at marketing underwear.
I'll be brief

Default Gazelle

Gazelle made a brief-I have one and it is the softest most comfortable one I have-swam laps last week-still holding up.Nearly 100 pc cotton!

The Speedo underwear that I have does not mention cotton.

My database indicates it was called Speedo Axcelerate. Made of nylon/elastine at a 96%/4% blend.

Default Jeffrey Gazelle

Anyone remember (probably now defunct) Gazelle Swimwear ?
Back in 1988 JG (Australian fashion designer, resident in Chicago)
proposed his new cotton and cotton/lycra mix suits.
They were to be good for divers with extra grip at the waist and
leg openings so that the force of water entry did not bring the suit
down to the ankles.
Seem to have disappeared without trace now.

in case you haven't been reading the contents on the new suits being showed on line, many have a cotton content.

Default Yeah, really, cotton

Been a few of these cotton Speedo suits on sale on eBay in the last few weeks. They're all from the UK, make in the UK, so they have to be from 2003 or earlier, as Speedo ended manufacturing in the UK in 2003.

I bought one, it doesn't have a fabric content label, but is definitely mostly cotton with some Spandex. Does not fit as gracefully as a Lycra or Polyester suit, puckered around the legs.

Definitely did some "shrink to fit" while I was in the pool. But still a bit awkward feeling at the back rear.

They took forever to dry. I was dripping water for at least 10 minutes as I stretched after my swim workout. Lycra or Polyester suit would be close to try by then.

This suit is not going to go into "rotation," it's just a curiosity.

Colors are pale when dry, but get bright when wet. I suspect they were aiming for a "Madras cotton" look. I could see it bled some color when I washed it in the sink afterwards. I got the red/yellow striped one.

The care label notes that sunlight and chlorinated water are bad for the suit.
