I used to bring half a dozen different thongs & bikinis to the beach, and change every few hours under a towel. I liked the variety, and I wore the tiniest ones in late afternoon. I ended up with no tan lines as the suits were different heights.
After a guy said I must be crazy, I now only bring one extra dry pair to wear when I am leaving the beach.

Yes , I do that when I’m on the beach . Changing into different styles after a couple of hours !

If you go to the beach with a friend each time you go in the water slip into a dry suit slightly briefer than the one before. The difference between suits 3 and 4 may not be very much but there will be a huge difference between suits 1 and 4. This way you can end up in a swim thong and your friend will accept it.
A male friend may even wonder if you have a spare bikini brief or swim thong for him.

I had a former friend who wore women's clothes to work. I am a Bear who usually wears very flat-front bikinis or gaff thongs to the beach. The ex-friend finally said I did not have proper respect for Drag. I still wear what I like!

Bringing along a spare gives you an opportunity to toss it to a friend who shows up at the pool and says he’d join you but forgot his suit.

I have never worn a thong on a water slide, but I always wear the skimpiest briefs I am comfortable with in a family environment. I have also done the tuck of the speedos into a thong trick, and once in Germany late in the evening when nobody was behind me waiting to slide I pulled the back of the speedos down off my butt entirely. Definitely slide faster with less cloth. I want to go to Miramar one day for their nude night where apparently you can slide nude too.

When I have a beach day I have a morning swim and an afternoon swim to avoid the hottest part of the day. I usually wear a different swimsuit in the afternoon simply because I have so many and I love showing them off.

100% the same for me! I have way more suits than I have a chance to wear!
