I never get erections in Speedos. They say age is just a number but I've realised since becoming 50 (54 now) that anything in that department seems to have gone now, no matter the stimulation.

They discovered Viagra by accident at the Pfizer plant in Sandwich, Kent (my county) here in England.
The drug was supposed to do something else but male test subjects found themselves having massive day long erections that they were unable to control.
It is safe unless you have high blood pressure or a heart condition, it is even available on the NHS on a one pill per week basis.

Don't fancy taking drugs. The only time it does happen is first thing in the morning, so it happens when I'm asleep. That gives me a narrow window of opportunity...

See your doctor, ask his advice and try it once. Beware of dodgy knockoffs on the market, don't try to buy cheap.
