Oh he's told me himself in the past that I'm his role model/idol. He looks up to me a lot. Our relationship is as much best buds as it father/son.

And compliments are compliments, regardless of who they're from. I only ever got neutral or negative attention for wearing Speedos going through most of adulthood, usually from my ex-wife/previous partners/friends. It's very pleasant to have that attention turned on its head.
