On a pouch suit instead of the front of the suit being one piece of fabric it is made in 2 pieces cut on a convex curve at the front, so forming a pouch when sewn together. This allows for a briefer bikini with more room at the front.

There is a fashion for pouch square cut suits where the pouch is intended to emphasise rather than to contain.

I started swimming on a local Y team at a very young age, so I don't really recall the details of my first swimsuit, other than that it was solid blue. I grew up on a farm, while not poor money was tight, so my old swimteam suits became my recreational suits. I have worn swim briefs all through my life exclusively. I know in high school I was often the only guy in race cut suit, as we called them back then, other than when my best friend Zach would wear his, which was pretty often. I just stayed weaaring them all the way through college, again using my practice and old team suits as my hanging out at the beach swimwear. It was never really an issue, other than it is where I got the nickname Swim Team Speedo, which is how the rest of my high school friends referred to my choice of swimwear. Even now, at a much older age, I find I am frequently the only guy in a "skimpy" suit, but frankly I like being different from the crowd. Plus, I have a fit body and feel like I can pull the look off well. I have worn some narrower sides (down to just under an inch), but never a thong or sheer/see thru. Welcome to the world of great swimsuits Northgagay. Once you get over the initial feeling of being "that guy" in a Speedo, you will come to enjoy how you look and feel in the best swimsuits ever!

Those suits look great! I've never worn one, but I will have to give it a try. Since I'm a more of a grower than a shower, I don't know that it would be that outrageous on me. Once I get one I will let you know how it goes.
