My sister's mother in law believes that it is unlucky to wear green. Green is associated with pre-Christian druidical culture, the era of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. It was the custom each spring to send a naked man into the woods and not to allow him to return until he was dressed in leaves, becoming the Green Man. This symbolised the coming of new life and of course sex, as he couldn't return until the leaf buds burst forth.
So wear your green Speedos with pride, bring in the spring, new life and feel sexy.
