Can you achieve consistent quality and output when actually making your swimwear?
If you intend to compete with the Chinese at low prices you'll be working for their wages in your country.
If you intend to go upmarket then everything you sell will have to be perfect, much of what you make will go into the bin until you can make that perfect swim brief every time, in minutes.
Your first design will have to be available in at least 4 sizes and perhaps several colours, to build up a launch stock will take you weeks of hard work with no income. You will need to spend out on a lot of fabric, elastic and waist cord just to make the launch stock.
If no one buys you will be left with a couple of hundred swim briefs that no one wants, which you will have to sell off cheap on Ebay.

Not only would I buy but I have been very interested in designing swimwear and manufacturing it. My photo business is what keeps me from spending cash on a sterger or sewing machine.
