Swimsuits preference
1/2" string sides
1-1/2" sides
3" to 4" square, influence by Aussiebum or sungas.

Shorts preference
Splits, 2" inseam
A few unlined shorts I recently bought having inseams so short, I need to wear underwear to prevent fall-out.

VINTAGE TENNIS SHORTS I wore many times in my pre-teen years (70's).
Too girlie I think! Made in Hong Kong by unknown brand or I didn't know about brands at the time too young.

Nothing "Girlie" about men wearing short shorts.

The current style (down to the knee "Half Pants") is just plain dorky (and rather bigoted too). I often call them "Leg Veils" because there is no practical reason for all men's shorts to have down to the knee coverage.

I've emailed many apparel companies and told them (very politely) that I'm tired of the current style and lack of variety and choice in men's shorts and I hope they start offering the pre-90s style.

It must be working because I'm noticing a lot more guys is vintage shorts than before 2012.

You emailed many apparel companies!!! WOW!

I guess people look at things differently. I view "tennis shorts" vs "short shorts"(for other sports) two different things, purposes and styles.
