The other suits I have are a thicker swimsuit material and stay in place perfectly, I wear them as underwear a lot and at the gym under shorts, no problems at all, swimming and tanning in them is great. Very unique tan line which is fun to show off in the pool locker room!
As PSDave says, you do have to do a good deal of man-scapeing though, otherwise they do slip.
