On a pouch suit instead of the front of the suit being one piece of fabric it is made in 2 pieces cut on a convex curve at the front, so forming a pouch when sewn together. This allows for a briefer bikini with more room at the front.

There is a fashion for pouch square cut suits where the pouch is intended to emphasise rather than to contain.
