In May 2025, I went on a cruise ship to Bermuda. I saw only one older gentleman wore a pale green Speedo while on the pool deck jacuzzi with his lady.

And at the popular Horseshoe Bay, I was the only one wearing a colorful modest bikini. Pretty much board shorts for every guys.

Bermuda has a reputation for people wearing modest swimsuits.

I read a science fiction story some years ago about a grey future Earth in which very few people had jobs and lived sad unfulfilled lives.
The main character was a police detective investigating why so many people were disappearing. Someone had built a time machine and could send you back in time, to any time you chose but you could not return.
One character chose a time when fashions were modest and restricted but secretly behind closed doors a lot of free sex was going on, but after only a few years the restricted fashions would be discarded and young people would suddenly feel free to display their bodies.
History and fashion are constantly changing, wait a few years and the currently repressed fashion influences will fail and n==men will get more freedom.

I don't really know the people who live in Bermuda are modest when it comes to men's swimsuits. I didn't stay long enough to observe. Interesting subject. But the tourists from the cruise ships were definitely modest. Our cruise ship left from New York City and the passengers may be mostly came from many states.

Only staying at one section of Brighton Beach, as soon as I arrived I saw my first sign of man wearing black bikini. Settled down looked east and west there were many men wearing Speedo styles swimsuits. I was delighted to see that, 2 inches, 3 inches sides. A couple men and lifeguards wore short shorts. For myself, I was wearing 4 inches sides Aussiebum Anger Lowrider. The word Anger on the front and back with a skull in the back. Later I looked at the photos, LOL, my genital fell lower between my thighs (my usual problem). So there were no bulge and nothing to Anger about. Should have done some adjustments grabbing them up to the front before getting out of water.

OK, then broad shorts still a majority and the ladies bikinis were very tiny, but they were showing off very pretty.

Hope that you haven't miss the story about visiting Brighton Beach the other day. I could feel the freedom of choice in men's swimsuits over there. I could wear many smaller type swimsuits without being laughed at.

Actually, I think speedos are coming back. No longer am I the only guy swimming at my regular pool in swim briefs as a couple of other guys are doing so. I have been wearing briefer swim suits this year; a couple of HOM micro swim suits in royal blue and a lighter blue, to a beach on the island of Lewis in the western isles of scotland. My wife accompanied me on our daily sea swim and wore a bikini. At the regular pool I'm still inclined to wear either "my odballs' swim briefs or 'budgy smugglers' either in bright patterns. Today I was swimming at a local pond in a very brief white swim bikini. Only one other person there; a young female on a paddle board. I swam to a couple of small islands in the pond and came out briefly. I'm sure she saw and probably snapped on her phone but no care here. Previously I have been at the same location wearing the same little swim brief and there were a couple of younger women swimming at another part of the pond, one in a small black bikini and the other in a swimsuit and again I made a point of getting out onto one of the little islands and I'm sure they had a good look. I met them when I returned to my car; nothing was said but we smiled at each other.
