Estim and Penis pumps
As many of you know, I had my prostate removed in February of 2014, and I have been a cancer-free male since then according to all the tests. One of the side effects of the surgery is that it often leaves a guy will a lessened or even no ability to have an erection. This sometimes tends to improve over time, but sometimes not. Generally, pills such as Viagra or Cialis are prescribed, but these frequently have little effect. Another option is to inject your penis directly with the same pill chemical using a needle, every time you want to get an erection. This seemed to me to be a pain in more ways than one.
A third option is to employ a penis pump, a vacuum device that makes you hard. I’ve already written some about my experiments using an inexpensive penis pump I found on ebay. A decent quality pump can be purchased for as little as $15. But, given the number of vendors it is clear that the market for these pumps extends a lot further than just as a device to treat ED in those recovering from prostate surgery. They have become “recreational” devices that can be used by any guy including those who can get a hard –on without one in an instant. There are gobs of pornhub videos where guys demonstrate the use of the pumps in vivid detail. Here is the pump I have that I really like.

I have also been experimenting with a fourth option, called an e-stimulator, or estim for short. Interestingly, estim units are also being studied by doctors for the treatment of erectile dysfunction as another alternative to pills, shots and vacuum pumps. Much like the pumps, these units are sold in large numbers from ebay, and a basic setup can be had for under $20. And like the pumps, lots of these are being sold to guys for pure recreational use. And, of course, there are plenty of pornhub videos demonstrating their use.
An inexpensive estim unit consists of an estim transmitter that typically runs on two AAA batteries, plus a series of different accessories. Here is a link to the one I ordered.

The transmitter takes the low-level 3 volts of current and makes it into something higher in voltage but even less current. There is a control that allows you to vary the current level continuously, plus a number of buttons to set different patterns. At the lower settings, the current is more like a tickle, feeling similar to a vibrator. As the level is increased, at the higher levels it feels a bit like a sting.
Now, keep in mind that the impulses from the brain that start an erection are electronic and in some ways the electronics in the estim are stimulating the nerves that cause an erection to occur. The pornhub estim videos show lots of different guys using these machines usually eventually to ejaculate. In my case, that isn’t going to happen. But I have also discovered messing around with the device I do start to get a hard-on, which is very good for any guy who has lost his prostate. Still, you don’t need to be in ED recovery to have fun with this.
Now the accessories vary. Mine included two current carrying silicone rings that go around the penis and the glans. Some of the kits include 4 rings. My kit also included a small butt plug, which I was squeamish about trying initially. But I soon discovered that I did not have to actually stick it into me to make it work so long as I got it between my glutes it would stay in place and provide some interesting stimulation as well.
If you order one of these, pay close attention to the specific accessories that comes with it. Some of the kits include sounding rods designed to be inserted into the penis like a catheter. I am way squeamish about doing that. There are also current-carrying tabs like what would be used for an EKG. And there are pairs of nipple clips. Also available are accessory kits for this unit that are designed specifically for women. And, of course the guy can ask the sexual partner to control the estim device for him, mixing the settings up in a way that adds not only stimulation but an element of surprise. What a way to insert something new into a marriage that had become a bit, err, boring, by employing two units each controlled by the partner. Can you now understand why these devices why have become big sellers on ebay?
Assuming you want to run your first experiment solo, I would recommend the unit and accessories I ordered, as this will give you a good idea as to whether this is for you.
My nearly every night routine now is to start with the estim device and play with that until I get a bit of a hard-on from the repeated stimulation. I follow that up by crawling into the penis pump and doing some edging by repeatedly raising and lowering the vacuum, recognizing that psychologically I am already feeling pretty good after getting the estim treatment. Once out of the pump I am quite hard and it is really fun at that point to use some water based lube all over my penis, but I particularly am fond of how my lubed-up glans area feels and how touch-sensitive it has now suddenly become. There are some way neat things going on now.
Usually I just edge, bringing myself to the verge of an orgasm and then backing off. Occasionally I fall over the edge depending on how good my glans is feeling on any particular night. And if I had a sexual partner I would be in good shape to engage in partner sex, thanks to the help from my pump and estim device. Another option would be to crawl into a swim brief and play with aided erect self until I went into an orgasm.
OK, at age 72 I no longer have all the options I had for getting a hard-on like I did when I was 15. But when I was 15 I tended to often look at erections as nuisances as opposed to something that can and should be savored. And I have learned more than a few stunts to enjoy that I hadn’t uncovered when I was 15.
Still, I am recommending both an inexpensive penis pump and an inexpensive estim device for younger, healthy males as another way of exploring who you are and where the psychosexual hot spots are located. You may run into something you really enjoy doing to, with and for yourself and maybe even your sexual partner as well, but I leave that for you.
