Ch 10: Jack's swim
“Any of you guys like to swim?” Jack asked as they made their way down the lake on the Pontoon boat. He was still in the red print Arena suit, a tank top and sandals. Not an ounce of excess fat on his tall, lean body. The boat was cruising at a slow and leisurely pace along the shore of the ten mile long lake. “You all look like you swim,” he added. Ben and Erik were sitting up front, while Dylan was back near the engine. MaryBeth sat on the lounger nearest Jack.
“Not really,” Erik replied.
They each were drinking a cold beer, while MaryBeth had a glass of wine in a plastic cup. The guys admired the wide open lake with little development along the shore. Jack slowed the engine to idle and cut the motor. The boat came to a float. They were about ¼ mile off the coast.
“It’s really fun to jump in out here,” Jack suggested as he opened the side gate of the boat. The Maine water was crisp, about 65 degrees this time of year, maybe even cooler out in the middle. Far colder than Virginia. Erik and Ben both jumped in, as well. It was deep, but the water was so clear that you could still make out the bottom. Dylan stayed on board.
“Sh.t it’s cold” Ben blurted out as they surfaced. “Oh, sorry,” he added, realizing his language. Everyone laughed.
“Welcome to the crown of Maine,” Jack replied.
Ben and Erik swam to the back of the boat and climbed back up the ladder. Their wet suits clinging to both of them, but the cold water had almost eliminated any sign of a bulge. “Dude, you shrunk to nothing,” Ben teased Erik as they got back on board, making MaryBeth chuckle.
Erik blushed, seeing MaryBeth. “Sorry, he can be a jerk sometimes,” he said.
“No worries,” she replied. She was looking at the two of them thinking he was right.
Jack jumped back on board after his quick dip and started the engine. “That was fun,” he said to anyone who would listen.
Ben and Jack grabbed two giant towels and threw them around themselves. MaryBeth opened a storage bin and threw them a blanket. “It gets cool when you’re all wet,” she said.
The guys spread the blanket over both of them. As the boat wound its way across the lake, the guys felt the warmth of the remaining sun on the blanket. Ben slid his hand over and rubbed Erik’s leg. Erik smiled, as he felt Ben’s hand slide up his upper leg, concealed by the blanket. Warmth started to reenter his anatomy, and he enjoyed the feeling of himself starting to reverse the shrinkage effect of the cold water. He took his own hand and laid it right on Ben’s swimsuit, holding Ben’s package in his palm. He could feel the outline of Ben in his hand, as he gently rubbed against him. Ben adjusted slightly, taking better advantage of Erik’s hand.
Jack slipped on a sweatshirt. As they wound their way back to the house, the five of them finished their drinks. MaryBeth watched Jack as he steered the boat. She loved the look of him in his swimsuits. She found him both very athletic looking and extremely sexy. She especially liked when he got a little aroused, which she tried to make happen whenever she could. If they guys were not here, she’d have him stop the boat and they’d be enjoying something under the blanket. “Oh well,” she thought. “This is nice, too. The guys are having fun.”
“Dude,” Erik whispered, as Ben started to really make him hard. Ben could feel that Erik was really enjoying what he was doing to him. “Later,” he added. Ben smiled back and eased up on the activity. Erik had already stopped teasing Ben, knowing they would have to remove the blanket when they got to the dock. For Erik, it was already too late, he was rock hard.

Erik heard some noise in the house. He looked at his clock and it was just past five in the morning. The sun was already up, typical of being this far north and east. He could smell coffee brewing and heard the back door open. Ben was still sound asleep, snuggled under the covers. The air was crisp, probably high 50’s or low 60’s, he guessed. Curious, Erik slipped out from his bed, still wearing his bright red Speedo. The three guys fell asleep quickly the night before, Ben and Erik together in the guest room, Dylan took the loft. Erik adjusted himself, and quietly opened the bedroom door.
Jack was standing at the window looking at the lake. He also still had on the same swimsuit and Ben wondered if he had taken it off or just slept in it. He had googles in hand and a red swim cap. He turned, hearing Erik. He waived and whispered “Good Morning.” They both smiled at each other.
“Wow, you’re up early,” Jack said.
“Yeah, I guess the sun woke me.” Erik replied.
“I’m about to go swimming,” Jack explained. “My morning ritual up here.” Erik remembered that from last year.
“Isn’t that water cold?” Erik asked.
“It is when you get in, but once I get going….” Jack trailed off. He grabbed his towel and headed out the door.
Erik watched as Jack ventured out in the water beyond the dock to where the water was up to his chest. Jack then stood, adjusted his googles and put his cap on. He was quickly face down in the water. He swam out a little further to deeper water and then started following the shore as he headed east, his bright red cap visible as he made his way. The lake was like glass, not a ripple in the water.
Erik grabbed some coffee and walked out onto the deck. While the air was cool, the morning sun felt great. He adjusted a lounger to face the east rising sun and sat down. He grabbed a long towel and laid it over him to block the cool breeze. As he sat, he watched Jack, now pretty far down the lake. Several hundred feet down, he saw two young guys walk out onto the dock and wave at Jack as he passed. Erik wondered if Jack saw them. He could tell they were in swimsuits, but the distance absorbed the details. Just after Jack passed by the two boys went back toward the shore. They looked to be mid-teens. Shortly after, Erik heard a car start as Zach, Ryan and Ryan’s dad headed to swim practice. It was an everyday ritual.
“I wish I could swim like that,” Erik thought, admiring Jack’s ability. “Maybe one day.”
Erik closed his eyes and was soon in a light sleep, interrupted only by the occasional outcry of a distant Loon on the lake. Mary Beth was up and watched Erik through the kitchen window and smiled. “He was the early riser last year, too,” she thought. She had just thrown a batch of muffins in the oven. She stood at the window admiring the lake and watched as a canoe passed by. The sound of the canoe woke Erik. He looked out and waved as the two folks in the canoe waved back. He tossed the towel aside and laid back, absorbing the sun, now in just the red swimsuit. It had been almost an hour since Jack set off on his swim.
Mary Beth noticed Erik awake and grabbed a couple hot muffins and some orange juice. “Thought you might be ready for a snack.” She said as she came out onto the deck. “The other guys are still asleep,” she added. “Any sign of Jack, yet?”
“Not yet,” Erik added, grabbing a muffin. “Thank you.”
“Ben and you are really close,” she said as the two sat on the deck.
“Yeah, really good friends,” Erik replied. He sort of blushed with a cute smile.
“That is sweet,” she replied. She was hoping he would open up more. She had noticed them on the plane and the boat as being more affectionate to each other than just two guys. Like Dylan, she was sure there was more to the two of them than just friends. They chatted for at least half an hour, about everything from mowing lawns to college to girls.
“Oh, I see him,” Erik changed the subject, catching sight of Jack. “Wow, he can swim,” he added.
“Yeah, he’s a fanatic,” she replied. “Been that way as long as I have known him. He was a swimmer in college when we met.”
Jack bounded up the five steps to the deck. He had his towel wrapped around his shoulders, his suit clinging to him. For an older guy, his body looked youthful with well outlined pecs, his abs now tighter from the swim, and he was well endowed inside the suit. “I’m ready for some coffee,” he announced.
“You are amazing,” Erik offered. Jack smiled back.
“I’ll get you swimming,” Jack replied. “Got a fun day in mind,” he added.
