The inverted horse shoes were added to centre pull cantilever brakes to add stiffness and strength to the system. The one I bought never did much for me and I took it off again. They disappeared from sale after a couple of years as gadgets are prone to. They were not called callipers.
The hackers got me, they sneak emails in on a friends account then access your address list. The messages appear urgent and credible and hit us on the emotional level. Beware.
Changing your email password stops them.
