A learning experience
The loss of my prostate led me on a quest to recover a semblance of my former "life" that I enjoyed so much. In turn, this led me into seeking out some "devices" that might be helpful in restoring my "health" down there. For me, two devices stood out as perhaps being useful--the vacuum penis pump and the so-called estim device.
I spent quite a bit of time watching videos on porno sites. I found it interesting that if I wanted to learn about how these devices could aid in solo activities I ended up in the gay male section, despite the fact that the videos typically did not involve partner sex in any form. (Not sure why this was but it goes back to the idea that among boys, any male caught masturbating is called gay as a derogatory term.)
In the process I learned more than I knew about why gay sex and anal sex are all but interchangeable and how such activity stimulates the prostate through the rectum walls.
Meanwhile I am transitioning into an age where stuff generally doesn't work like it did when I was 16. In exploring these devices am i recovering from prostate surgery or using the devices to help me enjoy my older years, or both? I finally decided that there is no reason to be concerned about the reason I am messing around with these devices, only that the devices are harmless (unlike many-partner sex activities) and helps create sensations that are "fun". Why should I be in any way concerned about that?
In my study of porn videos involving guys I ran into one where a guy had received an estim device from a video viewer. Turns out, the estim device was nearly identical to the one I have. This guy has a reputation for being able to make a big hard-on very quickly, employing a variety of manual techniques. Once the estim was in place he liked the sensations from the repetitive pulses, but seemingly not that much. At the conclusion he said basically "this is an interesting toy but I dont think i want to use this anymore" and he then went back to his favored old-school manual methods. So far as electronic devices go, he seemed far more interested in butt plugs that vibrate and perhaps create pulses of electrical currents, not silicone rings around the penis that pulse electronically. Conclusion: the techniques guys use in masturbation are very individualized and personalized. What I enjoy doing to myself in this regard may not be something that interests you much at all and vice versa.
The same is true of the vacuum pumps. Some guys love these. Others not so much. Generally, I have found that being in a vacuum pump is much more enjoyable if I am already feeling horny psychologically and so generally I start by using good old manual methods followed by the estim device which also works better if I have employed some hand stimulation to help initial arousal. Then the vacuum pump becomes the third step in the sequence.
The issue with pumps for a lot of guys is that once inside the pump, your penis is not touching the inside of the tube. You can stare at your penis turning red and growing from the vacuum assault, but you cant touch it in that condition. Only after removing the pump can you really enjoy the hard-on the pump helps create. The technique I employ generally is to first stretch a small-inner-diameter penis ring over the sheath on the pump (the part my penis goes into) then at the conclusion of the vacuum session, snap this ring down to the very base of the penis and then remove the pump. This ring constricting blood flow ffeels great and helps sustain the vacuum-powered erection for many minutes after the pump comes off entirely. I am very fond of being in this "condition".
I hope that what I explain here will be helpful in your quest to get more enjoyment from your own body. For me at least, these two gadgets have been critical as aI recover from prostate surgery and grow older. If you pick up a few ideas of things to try yourself, that is great!
