My wife & I went snorkeling just to the south of Manly beach in Sydney last month.
Firstly, I was surprised at the variety of fish in this location - definitely worth doing if you are in the area.
Secondly, was surprised by the speedo wearers. About 10% of the guys were in speedos, most of them seemed to be in their 20s or 30s, typically with a girlfriend/wife, some with families. And the speedos were predominantly ones with fun prints, not just boring black or navy. I had on some light blue colour block briefs from "I Am Splash" and felt a bit dowdy.
