My assorted thoughts on estim devices and penis pumps after 2 months

I have been “messing around “ with a small, inexpensive estim device and been using that in conjunction with an equally inexpensive penis pump (links to actual items in posts above). My readers in part keep reading me I think because they enjoy jerking off while wearing not only swim briefs, but compression shorts and tights, jock straps and other gear that fits really snug in the groin. That a guy likes to do this is not exactly the kind of stuff a lot of guys would like to make public for an assortment of reasons. A lot of guys are really hung up on the idea that “real” sex with a partner is the only sex a guy dare admit enjoying, and the rest of the stuff needs to be kept down there as a deep dark secret never to be revealed.

Heck, I freely admit that I have enjoyed all sorts of ways of jerking off ever since I entered puberty. I’ve enjoyed my own body immensely as the years have gone buy. If some guys find saying something similar to be embarrassing, then maybe just maybe they should think about it some more. But for me, being able to jerk off with intense pleasure via a host of different ways is a very important part of who I am.

As all of you know, my prostate was removed via nerve-sparing robotic surgery in February of 2014. I have been in good health since then, but I have had to find some different ways of pleasuring myself in order to get back some of the same feelings and sensations down there that I had enjoyed previously.

Now most guys in the same situation I have been in are struggling with the idea of whether or not they can get enough of an erection in order to be able to still have copulatory sex with their wives or other regular sexual partners, and urologists mostly treat patients post surgery as if this is somehow the goal. Still, I have encountered widowed guys who complain that they are unhappy post-surgery because jerking off is no longer that much fun.

And for me, getting back to a semblance of pre-surgery normal was a slow slog. I found the clothing items I enjoyed cramming myself into pre-surgery also worked to a degree as rehab devices. But what else?

That is when I got to thinking about trying a penis pump. If this seemed to work for a portion of the guys that wanted to have intercourse, maybe the strategy could be adapted such that the use of the penis pump could a “prelude” to more intense manual jerking off. Guess what? The simple, inexpensive pump worked quite well in this respect , thank you. First, the pump is applied in multiple vacuum-release cycles to get me as hard as possible. Now some guys say if they apply too much penis pump vacuum they go right into an orgasm while still contained in the pump. But this has never happened to me. Its tough at age 72 to have an orgasm while having nothing touching the nerves on the underside of the penis.

Then I got to digging around some more and looking at the little estim devices. These devices consist of a small electronic box that contains two ordinary AAA batteries. Electronics is is used to lower the current level while at the same time raising the voltage far above the 3 volts of the batteries. Then more electronics is used to come up with various current pulse patterns and a continuous control allows the user to fine tune the “kick” the machine gives. The current goes into conducting silicone rings. Some gius put one ring around the scrotum and another around the glans of the penis, but I simply put the other ring around the penis base. A minimum of two rings are needed to complete the stimulation circuit. Then turn on the machine and start experimenting with current levels and patterns.

At low levels, the effect is very similar to how you would feel if you applied a hand-held vibrator to the underside of your penis. (How could I know THAT?) At higher levels the repeated shocks can start to feel like a bit of a sting, and the tricky part is finding the exact level of current that stimulates the erection nerves while not being uncomfortable—but there are settings where a guy will probably say “I’m really liking that!”

For me, the best sessions have been when I begin with the estim device to get me to feeling horny, and then at some point stop that device and slip on the penis pump. The penis pump seems to have an easier time getting me big and hard when the prelude is the estim. The estim device I have also includes a small butt plug to electrically stimulate the anal area using the same control module.

Male anatomy comes into play here because guys know that having anal stimulation messes with the prostate that is adjacent, and further, many of the nerves that control erections surround the prostate, so the anal stimulation is another way of potentially boosting erectile function. I suspect this approach would be even more enjoyable for guys who still have intact prostates, but the alternate device works well for me too. I like that too.

After getting out of the estim device and messing with the penis pump stimulation for awhile, at some point I slip a silicone cock ring off the pump sheath and down to the base of my now quite erect penis. I coat my penis with a gel lube, usually just a shower gel. Some guys in attempting to use a penis pump as a prelude to copulation claim they almost immediately lose the erection once the penis pump is off. I have not found this to be a problem, and manually stimulating myself gelled up with the penis pump off seems to make me harder not softer—as in I am really enjoying this now. At this point I can either stimulate myself to a very pleasant dry orgasm, or I can keep edging along just below that point. Either is way fun. Maybe not exactly the same kind of masturbation fun I was having when I was, say 13 and just discovering my body, but still a lot of fun nonetheless. I’m horny, and, at least for a 72-year old, quite hard. A fine place to be!

I was just watching a video where a urologist was talking about studies underway on whether or not it would work to implant electrodes in post-prostectomy patients and give the patient the ability to use low level electrical current to stimulate the nerves that control erections, and how that would compare with options more generally used by such as the ED pills. But it immediately occurred to me that with this little estim device I am running much the same experiment on myself.

Had I not had the prostate surgery I would probably never messed around with either of these devices as tools for jerking off. The question a lot of my readers might have is why they should be reading all of this given they are still good on the ED front and have intact prostates? Well, MOST of these devices are sold as simple sex toys. For guys without sex partners both items introduce new dimensions into the activity of jerking off. Will these devices work as jerk-off aids for healthy patients with good erectile function? I am confident that they will. Are there any cautions or risks associated with these devices? The only caution I can think of is that when using the penis pump you need to make sure that the shield fits snuggly enough around your penis so your balls don’t inadvertently get drawn into the pump alongside your penis. That can quickly get very painful, and perhaps result in injury, but you will yelp with pain and know enough to stop very quickly if this happens. Otherwise, both of these seem to be great ways to better enjoy your jerk off sessions. I’m having fun with both of them.
