Lived in Denver Metropolitan Area for decades and so Kansas, City was our nearest closest city to the east at only 600 miles away. With Salt Lake City over 500 miles to the west we were located about 1/2 way between both. I didn't know anyone whom actually drove to either city for any reason due to there's large regions of absolutely nothing in between them. Not even trees. In winter the roads get closed for days sometimes. Most folks living in Denver haven't driven east into the High Plains. Great to fly over though. We were practically neighbors! Welcome neighbor!

Every year I drive on I-70 and I-80 towards Iowa for a bicycle event and try to stay on the correct route to get through Kansas City as quickly and easily as possible. It has a mess of lane charges and really takes a lot of concentration to get through it after having driven straight road for 600 miles.

Currently, I live half way between Denver and Salt Lake City in a sparsely populated region. It's a great place to fly over too.

I'm a Boomer who first began wearing Speedos in the 1970's also.
