I dug around and found some older photos with me in the Speedo Thong and then the Jantzen Thong (looks like these were taken BEFORE my prostate was removed LOL) On the Speedo photos note that the back is almost a full coverage near the waistband and fits high enough so no Y is visible, but that the thong strap is wide enough to stay over and cover the entire butt crack with a band of fabric all the way to the pouch connection. As thongs go this is very conservative and would likely not attract a lot of attention in a group where the other guys were wearing standard Speedo briefs.

The issue with thongs as male swimwear of course is whether the suit as normally worn is (perhaps illegal) nudity or not if seen on a public beach where laws prohibit nudity.... I guess Speedo was trying to come up with a design that might be acceptable in this respect. Normally women at a public beach could easily get by wearing a suit with this much rear coverage but the question always is are the "rules" somehow different and more restrictive for males?
