On of the gyms I go to has a newsletter. They just sent one out that has exercise suggestions for people getting back into exercise with New Years Resolutions. There's a great one for swimming.

Equipment:
You don't need much to get a good workout in the pool. Just a pair of goggles and a swimsuit. For men, we recommend wearing briefs. That's right, Speedos! The minimal style will let you move through the water with ease. Women should wear a one or two-piece workout suit. Make sure the bottoms have a drawstring if you choose the bikini style.
