I think water polo players are pretty much like...
I think water polo players are pretty much like swimmers - they have no problem wearing skimpy, tight Speedos, Turbos, etc. in the pool for competition, but would feel a bit 'out of place' wearing...

I grew up in the 70s and I just don't remember brief "Speedo" type suits being all that common. I recently watched "Jaws" and its sequels - all from the late 70s - and in those crowded beach scenes...
