Looks like a 3" side Speedo but not familiar with the material "50% Polyester, 50% Polybutylene".

It appears that Speedos made in the US or for the US market have the Speedo logo on the right front hip - at least those I've bought over the years did. Those made for Asia/Australia/Europe have the logo on the left front hip, as do the ones in these pictures. So I'm not sure they are available from a US store or supplier?

confusing

Pentland Group is all over the world but Speedo International is headquartered in Nottingham UK - except that I believe Speedo USA operates separately.

Try an Email to info@speedo.com however - I have found them helpful in the past and they may be able to unravel this mishmash of branding, distribution and manufacturing (which I for one can never work out - so much simpler when they just came from Sydney).

fabric info.

Well, as we all know Torchwatch, polybutylene is a polyolefin, often used in manufacturing water pipes.
I am sure it is useful in speedos too but if you can translate this I for one would be grateful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybutylene

It must be a typo and they really meant PBT. It says endurance on the suit, and that's what their endurance suits are made of.

PhD

OK - I'll go here instead but I still think I need a degree course in polymers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybutylene_terephalate

(sounds like a cover up is needed on the beach as PBT degrades under UV light)

Looks like the UK version of their standard brief.

They don't ship to the US, but you can get a few sizes from Figleaves.

In conclusion the suit appears to be a 3" side Speedo Endurance made from 50% polyester 50% polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)

Polybutylene terephthalate fibre is used for making toothbrush bristles as it is so tough, and this property is why it has been chosen for the endurance suits.

After a long day on the beach, nibbling at chosen delicacies, one can slip off one's Speedos to clean one's teeth.

dual use

Obviously a good multi-purpose product (at not a bad price) and Jackk has come up with left side and right side logos.

(can I quibble on a quarter of an inch as 7cm would be two and three quarters?)
