thongs in jamaica
 

has anyone been to negril in jamaica.
we are going their soon and i would like to wear my thong trunks on the beach.
was wondering if it is ok or will people laugh.

I've only been to one resort in Negril and you would generally be a little overdressed in a thong there. But I have seen many, many men in thong swimwear on that particular beach.

Stayed at the Sandels Resort in Negril a couple of years back and my girlfriend and I had absolutely no problems with the thongs we choose to wear.
As we both prefer to see ultra minimal tan lines on each other I have to admit our suits were without doubt the smallest being worn at the resort, but we had no problems at either the beach or pool.

I always think it's polite to slip on a little something when visiting the bar or amenities though so I always made sure I had a little pair of shorts with me, but for swimming and sun bathing it was always just a very brief thong. I can assure you you won't be alone.

thanks hotbunz i did read that sandals was very conservitive when it came to mens swimwear but your post has helped. we are on a couple of hotels away from sandals so i will keep my eye out. i have always wanted to sunbath on a beach in just a thong so i think a few drinks may just give me enough courage to try, i will also take some short shorts just in case.
