Ignoring arlen's bit of spam, I should like to hear shaulis's opinion on the IOC's intention to drop wrestling from the list of participating sports.

Byron,

I hope the IOC will rethink its decision to drop wrestling from the list of participating sports. I know that the IOC wants to give more types of sports a chance at the Olympics. Can you imagine the outcry if the IOC decided to drop the marathon or one of the popular sports? It wouldn't be pretty. Wrestling has been part of the Olympics since the start. I know wrestling isn't too popular right now and that may be a reason why it may be dropped. I don't believe the Olympics will be the same if the IOC goes through with this plan.

Quite agree...

If anything belongs to the ancient Greek heritage of the Games that does.
I don't know what idiots have or will decide this but I don't think shooting
rifles counts as a big spectator attraction.
Nobody can spectate on yachts going out into the ocean to sail around buoys either and how the legend of the run from Marathon relates to
tarted-up horses prancing in a field is beyond me......

Re. Arlen

Hi - are you still out there? - nothing posted since April.
Are we going to hear more? (without mention of yoga classes that is)
