1" sideseam solar SPEEDO
 

I was browsing SwimOutlet and came across the 1" speedo. Looking at the pic, it certainly does not resemble a 1" side. However after I chatted with the customer service, they did infact confirm it is 1".

I would think that 1" would definetely put it more in the "bikini" category. :confused:

Anybody bought a pair?

Without a male model wearing them it is hard to tell the scale, the picture doesn't really tell us much. Without skin tones for comparison we don't really have a clue as to the real colour.
It has a front seam, this means that the front will be pouched to some extent.
It may well have 1" side seams but the back looks very full.

SwimOutlet has them on sale for $23. The reviews seem to be good.

I was trying to compare this 1" Solar Speedo to the Sporti Euro speedo they have on clearance for $9-13. I don't know which one is a better buy. :cool:

I have no experience of the Sporti but the Solar always seems to receive
good reports - and that blue one sure ain't 1" whether you want to call it a bikini or not.

I have a bunch of the Speedo Solars and they definately are NOT 1" sides. They used to be, but Speedo chabged the suit a few years ago and made the sides a bit wider, probably closer to 2". They are still a great fit. Its my "go to" suit, I wear it all the time. Love the tanlines I get from it!!!

My strong recollection, back when I tried lots of suits from Swimoutlet, is the Solar was definitely bigger then 1 inch sides -- perhaps only a bit narrower than my Sporti Euro, which is just at 2 inches in size 32. Another big difference to note is the Sporti sits much lower on the hips (see the attached photo if I succeeded to upload). After trying most of the brands available from Swimoutlet, Sport Euro is my favorite suit in terms of super fit, comfort, and durability so far -- and inexpensive enough to be able to enjoy having way more colors! For me, the 2 inches is small enough to satisfy the urge for skimpy, but conservative enough that I have still become comfortable to be the only guy wearing briefs at the pool at the local suburban fitness club or on any regular beach (like on our Hawaii vacation last spring in the photo.)

I suggest you buy several brands, sizes, or colors from Swimoutlet to get the free shipping over fifty bucks, and then invest the few dollars it costs in return postage to mail back the ones you don't want -- I have done that a lot with no problem.

Solar v. Euro Sporti
 

I have both, but I do prefer the Sporti euro cut ... It is true to "cut". I have cut out the lining in both. The Sporti really seems to hold my boys in place very nicely. I swim on a Masters team and the Sporti holds up for many months. My waist is 31-32, but I wear a 30 in the Sporti. Good luck!

This discussion made me want to break out my old Speedo Solar that I still have. The material is much silkier than the new ones and the sides are a lot narrower
