Well, I think I've seen everything now.
Don't ask how it holds up but it's from the Vizeau tropical collection if anyone is interested: http://vizeau.com/images/t_STMAARTEN.gif

Torchwatch 10-06-2013 12:41 PM

It is all about elastic, the pouch would have to be essentially self supporting like a cock sock, the fabric connecting to the waist at the side and the rear is mostly for show.

PSDave 10-07-2013 04:17 PM

I personally don't like that suit but I do have the one sided thong. First, you have to be shaved, The suit needs to get a grip on your package, second, it stays on very well with no inner loops or elastic. It isn't a suit that you are going to dive in a pool or wear in the surf. However for calm waters it is a fun suit. It seems to defy logic and gravity. It is designed in such a way that it must go over the left hip. I found out that if you turn it wrong side out you can wear it over the right hip so you you can get an all over tan and keep the jewels protected from a burn. Its great for tans and to catch the eye of others --I love mine.
You will find that Viseau also makes that one sided thong (theirs with a buckle). If you don't trust the staying power of the suit check out Body Aware, they have the suit with a thin string to secure it. Either way, not for the faint of heart or those that fear a "wardrobe malfunction"

Byron 10-18-2013 02:39 AM

one sided

I see one of those now called JOK:

Torchwatch 10-18-2013 06:05 PM

is "JOK" short for "JOKE"?

Byron 10-18-2013 07:29 PM

Jok

JOK swimwear is stocked by AliExpress so I guess it's another Chinese product

Cute design, perfect fit and right amount of fabric!!

Whats the point of wearing a "racer" suit?

Byron 10-20-2013 12:38 PM

nice suit

.....probably appropriate to tiny speedo thread (thisweirdthing1985 : 08-16-2013)
NB: age of the young swimmer?

I don't know where to put this pic but since this thread is up at the top of the list, I'll add it here.

What do you guys think the "D" letter stands for? School name? State unversity of Delaware?

Looks nice!

Byron 10-21-2013 02:17 AM

D

No idea - not Delaware State Uni. as that is SD

Where does it come from? Strange pic - the guy in the black speedo is in focus but he is surveying some fuzzy area ahead in white.

Byron 11-12-2013 03:53 AM

bad design

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz...5znao1_500.jpg

A nice speedo is spoiled as shield of Italy should not be centered but on white panel at the front - and as for the rear, this appears to be blue when it should be green.

Byron 11-12-2013 04:00 AM

two zips

http://24.media.tumblr.com/11726237d...l2mro1_500.jpg

Interesting blue suit - quicker relief at centre is possible no doubt - but what
space is available to store anything at left ?

Minimalist75 11-12-2013 10:18 AM

Zipper Suit

Probably enough space for a key.

Byron 11-12-2013 04:11 PM

zip pocket

Yep, that must be the answer as such a brief suit would accommodate very little (and would spoil the line anyway).

Nice pic here also of a young wet swimmer which I'm not sure where to post - so I'll raise another question :
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1...if0mo1_500.jpg

Is he wearing a Turbo ? - logo is not at all clear but I think I see a T.
As for the rear only DA of the lettering is visible, which at first suggests CANADA but I believe that to be wrong - does anybody from California
have a better answer ?

Byron 11-13-2013 08:50 PM

CA revelation

Re. lack of letters to read in pic above of the ?Turbo suit I think all is explained here: http://24.media.tumblr.com/765bc57cd...6ymro1_500.jpg

Are we talking about the Lamorinda Water Polo Club?

http://lamorindawaterpolo.org/default.asp

Byron 11-14-2013 12:41 AM

confused

I called the first guy a swimmer because of the goggles.
The question is is the guy in the second pic the same one?
Might be but the photography is different in each case.
In the second I want to know what is within the O and that
could well be a water polo ball.
The w.p. picture gallery in your link is not much use however
as the team there is in totally different blue speedos printed
as "Cal".
Lamorinda appears to be a prosperous neighbourhood full of
swim clubs and country clubs and teams of many names.
Hence my appeal to CA members - but no response .

Crail 11-14-2013 03:22 AM

Confused

Lamorinda is an amalgamation of three communities in this area of California; about 15 miles from me (Clayton) in the East Bay of San Francisco - Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda - and yes, considered to be affluent communities. Does that help?

Byron 11-14-2013 07:58 PM

location

Yes, thanks (but any pic you can find of a club/team in action in their speedos somewhere in that neighborhood would be useful confirmation)

Crail 11-14-2013 09:08 PM

Location

Byron, I've searched and was unable to find a pic that would confirm that my reply was on the mark and for health reasons I am unable to get there to take pics.

Byron 11-15-2013 01:25 AM

Thanks....

No problem - as they say in Oz

Byron 11-16-2013 08:33 PM

unusual....

http://31.media.tumblr.com/4354b44b5...nebco1_400.jpg

I don't think I have seen raised seams as a speedo pattern before but on
balance I think I will stick to the traditional flat front.

Byron 11-23-2013 05:13 AM

another surprise...

http://25.media.tumblr.com/16d7cb8dc...yp9do1_500.jpg

Not just any old scarf reused as it seems to be tailored

boxing

http://25.media.tumblr.com/6a69ebca7...jk2o1_1280.jpg

Doesn't this seem stupid? One with boxer shorts as you would expect and the other with denim cut to the knee but then split !

A very handsome man wearing a nice pattern speedo!!!

Seem like the lines of his 6-pack muscle go well with the speedo pattern :p

louis 01-07-2014 08:56 AM

a few raised seams

Idont think they are raised seams , they are just printed lines . I will enlarge the pic to a max... and let you know via your email add......

Byron 01-07-2014 04:54 PM

Votes Please

(especially Torchwatch - and big blow-ups guys)
Question: Have genuine seams been created for the front pattern above - or are they just a facsimile cleverly printed on this speedo?

Torchwatch 01-07-2014 09:40 PM

3D effect printing

Sorry Byron but it is 3D effect printing. There are computer programs that can create this effect using ray tracing (building up objects then eliminating from a given light source or sources).
Since all the sections come from a single focus the fabric at the focus would be about 20 layers deep and impossible to sew or wear.

Byron 01-08-2014 01:45 AM

ray tracing

Thanks (knew I would get the technical answer)

Byron 03-03-2014 09:47 PM

yummy blue speedo

Great fit here but anybody know why there are strange additions of what appear to be belt loops?
http://31.media.tumblr.com/6f1967e5b...qv3do1_500.jpg

Byron 03-30-2014 01:56 AM

Now I know.....

Very strange suit - anyone know why attachments come at the front?

You can get the JOK brand in left and right hip verisions. They are a lovely light weight material that you barely know you have on. They are best as tanning suits as this make does move around a bit with excessive movement. Not good for anything but taking a cool down paddle in though, they will come off with even light swimming.
The other suits I have are a thicker swimsuit material and stay in place perfectly, I wear them as underwear a lot and at the gym under shorts, no problems at all, swimming and tanning in them is great. Very unique tan line which is fun to show off in the pool locker room!
As PSDave says, you do have to do a good deal of man-scapeing though, otherwise they do slip.

Cheers Paul

more belt loops....

A couple more with meaningless white buttons on a sexy anonymous yellow suit this time:

(Not Fit For Swimming)

knikon 06-18-2014 03:45 AM

that loincloth has to be one of the oldest forms of "bikini" type garments tho... I love tie strings on suits. Front drawstrings are one of the few things on bikini swimsuits that are pretty much only on mens swimwear...

my friends at the Facebook group Did You Swim Today are having a lot of fun with that one sided thong thing. The version shown there actually looks kind of good on the smooth young model but just definitely not so on two other examples given.
So my wife says "get one" but which? I found the JOK brand at Amazon but reviews sound pretty poor. The one seen on FB has a tag that may say "ASIX" but google turns up nothing. What are the other brands and where do we get one?

I'm a great lover of this style of suit, I have MANY and just love the tan line and unique style, I wear them pretty much 24/7

The "JOK" design is OK, but the suit is thin and flimsy and not very well fitted, it slips around at the slightest movement, no good for swimming, trust me!!!. The "JOK" is my suit of choice if oiling up and just laying out still to catching a few rays, if the oil ruins it its cheap enough to just throw away.

If your looking for a swimsuit version in this style look for one with a slightly more pouched front, it holds you better and wont move as you dive or swim.

"jovanadesign.co.uk" do a nice one, its the JP4D, as does "thongbiker.com" & "koalaswim.com"

Regards PAUL
