Today at the beach, I saw two other guys wearing swimwear outside the norm (meaning other than board shorts or trunks). Early in the day, one guy with his female partner was wading in the surf in a fairly normal speedo-like swimsuit. Later, I saw a man wearing a microbikini with a thong back taking a leisurely stroll along the shore. I have to admit, it stood out to me, especially given his body type, which made me reflect on my own reactions and judgments.

I'm wearing a neon green "well-endowed" Brazilian rear cut swimsuit and feel that it matches my body type well (although I'm partially faking the "well-endowed" part as I explained in my original post). But it got me thinking—am I rationalizing my own choices because I believe my body fits the swimwear? Is it possible that others have the same reaction to me that I had to the second guy?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Have you ever found yourself judging others’ swimwear choices? How do you balance personal confidence with body positivity? Do you think others judge you the same way?

I am also an older guy, and after age 30 you are "invisible" and can wear anything you like. No one will notice you or comment.

Please, please, please wear white and yellow swim suits in the shower before swimming in public in them.
You will discover just how transparent they go before finding out in full view of the public.
There are times and places that nurturing a little transparency can be fun, where at other locations it will get you arrested.
Remember the woman that wore a knitted woolen naked man suit in public and got arrested?

Thanks for the caution, and will do. The Milliskin Tricot Spandex fabric in neon is supposed to be somewhat less transparent than regular colors but I will check it out. White is definitely dangerous, I understand. That's just for the back yard.

There's a whole board full of guys here that would help get me out of jail, right? (Obviously just kidding.)

That's good to hear and maybe it's one of the benefits of getting older - like having wisdom, kids and grandkids, the potential to retire, and not caring as much what other people think - except about our swimsuits!

Yes, the manufacturer claims 3/4 coverage for Brazilian cut, and 1/2 coverage for Rio cut. I ordered the Brazilian cut with "gathered back" and it feels great but does seem relatively modest.

I've been pulling the rear fabric over toward the center when sunbathing on my stomach to prepare for the next step (full coverage -> Brazilian -> Rio). Don't want to have any crescent moons showing! (Would that meet the definition of mooning?)

I was walking on the Beach in a g-string, and a guy sitting on a blanket said the rear view was not nice (it was at his eye level). I went back to my flat-front thongs, which have a 2" wide rear strap that is more like a Rio. That looks much nicer, and I like the tight fit in front.

Why wear a suit at all in your back yard?

I don't want to sunburn my private parts, so I need a thong at least.
