I watched a programme about skinny dipping recently and sure, it makes some sense. If you're out in the countryside and you fancy a dip in a lake, you wouldn't want to do it in your underpants, because they'd be too wet to put back on.

Apart from that, I don't find the attraction in doing normal activities unclothed. Shopping, walking, gardening etc.

And there are a couple of strange things about the movement. Naturists tend to be middle-aged to old people. Young people don't want to join. However, I would suggest they don't want to socialise with old people, rather than having an aversion to nudity.

Naturists also like to stress there is no eroticism. As most of them are visually unappealing, I can see how! There is some truth in that, however. I don't get turned on by women at the pool in bathing suits, but if a woman turned up for work in a mini-skirt, I would be! It's all to do with the context...
