This may work out but at first glance I don't like. Don't understand the need for the change. "Ain't broke, don't fix it"
I must not be the only one confused with the new format. Nobody is posting.

I agree Tom. This does seem more confusing, but I'm sure we'll get used to it and before long, not even rember the layout of the old board. It is a shame that nobody is posting. I'm not normally a frequent poster, but I do stop by every day to see whats going on! Since its gotten cold out, I'm not wearing my Speedos and this is my fix!!

I get the idea they had to drop the old format because of the legal action the Speedo Corp was starting to take against some web sites. Maybe.

The old board was difficult to maintain. The software used was very old. I would expect guys to get used to posting here after a bit. On the new layout here, you can easily see what postings are new and there is no need to clean out the old postings each month. The old postings will automatically be placed behind the newer messages.

This style of board works well. I always had a hard time finding "new" posts with the old.

Thanks for keeping this going

Love the new board and the sign on feature will help stop the trolls.

I like the new look and name of this board. The new forum software is easy to get used to, and offers many advantages.
-It's going to be great to read stories that are broken up into paragraphs.
-Messages posted late in the month no longer are in danger of disappearing in an end-of-month archive.
-Pictures that can be attached to messages!

... and an overall cleaner, more modern "look". It's like moving from DOS 2.1 to Mac OSX

I liked the old board much better.

I'm slowly starting to get use to the new format but still not very happy with the layout. It's been up for awhile now and I don't see many post. I was happy to see a couple of puzzles (Thanks guys) but we seem to have lost many old and steady posters. Not a good sign. Another problem could be the new name. While I understand the reason for omitting the word "Speedo", it's going to make it difficult for new members to find this site. I think I would have substituted the word "Breif" or "Bikini" in the title. Without new members the prospects for this Board are dim. I would hate to see the board disappear and hope that it can be revieved and prosper. I did a story line once, do you think if I started a new one it would help?

Hey Tom, lets give it time. I like the new format and really like that puzzles stories and open discussion are now broken out. The old board also had few posters in the end. I think the sign on aspect will scare some away, but the membership has grown quite a bit this week.

Guys who are still using the old URL addresses will automatically be forwarded to this new site.

Tom, sure...If you have a story to share, or reshare, be sure to post it under a new thread. :)

Er..........actually I wasn't.............

Tried for a week to get on to old site.
A message just said it may have moved or be temporarily down.

Eventually found this new site by advanced search..........
Thought it really unimpressive that no warning was given on old board.
I was actually just left to find this new one by my own devices..........

Same here.
I think there would be a whole sensation of speedo lovers who have not found their way to this swimsuit board.

Tom, I completely agree! While I am getting more used to the new layout, I am surprised at how few posts there are. I am a daily visitor, have been for years, and I had trouble finding the board this morning. I really hope it takes off and we find lots of new members! I love to come and get my Speedo fix!! Now that its too cold here in North Jersey, I'm really missing my Speedos

What URL were you using before to access the old site that did not get you to the new site? Let me know via PM and I will check it out.

Well its been over a month now and the number of posting has picked up.
Unfortunatily, as the activity has increased its becoming more confusing to follow. This system of having to page through old post to find an added comment to an existing storyline is a pain in the ass. Lets not forget that these storylines are not going to be deleted at the end of the month. What going to happen when they get to be 20 or 30 pages long? Why not add replies to the top of the stroyline instead of the bottom or put in an option to allow us to "go to" the new post directly. I fully understand that the old site was a major problem for Mike and it needed to be updated. What I don't see is how anyone can consider this an improvment. I'm not a happy camper and I don't think I am alone. I could easily just stop contributing to the site, as so many other long term members have, but I don't want to see it disappear.

You are not alone Tom and I keep banging the drum for simplicity of operation
-- and not to find that an 'improvement' instead requires more and more complex navigation.
I remain of the opinion that regular archiving was not a bad thing and one
only has to scan the threads to see that everybody has mostly said what they want to say within a month and the topic therefore fizzles out.

On the old board I liked the chat room. There doesn't seem to be a chat room here. Is that right? If there is one can somebody please point it out, sorry for missing it if its here.

A question, we used to get sort of openly sexual in speedo talk on the old board especially in the chat room. I like speedos to wear for swimming and kick around the house in but they also do have a special sexual quality I have always enjoyed. Are we allowed to talk about the sexual aspect of speedos here? There doesn't seem to be much of that conversation on this new board. If its OK to do it I want to start a new thread on first time you lets say fulfilled yourself in a speedo. I remember that very fondly.

LOL - the way things are going I'm not sure you're allowed to put speedo in your post.

The question of a chat room has been raised (I can't find the post on it for the moment despite the wonders of searchability in our new facilities).

Mike's reply was that he would be considering providing such, (the space for which could be gained by eliminating Lycra Forums ).
(the words about Lycra being mine, not his, I hasten to add).

I find it very simple to go right to the newest post in any thread. You just have to click on the Last Post arrow on the right of the forum listings. Look around and experiment...This board has tons of features that many of the big popular boards on the web have. You just have to take a moment to become familiar with how to use the all the forum features and controls.

You can easily see if any forum or thread contains new postings. Just check the message icon picture to the left of any forum or message thread. There are icons for Forum Contains New Posts, Forum Contains No New Posts, and others. Check the bottom of the main forum index page to see an example of the main message icon choices.

You can jump to the beginning of a comment thread, any specific page in the comment thread, or right ot the newest post in a comment thread. You just have to click on the correct link to get you to where you want to go. Take some time and learn the new features. Once you do, you can apply that to most of the other big forums on the web too.

I did a search on the chat room postings. Mike said recently
Hi Flip. There is not live chat feature at this time. After the new board gets going and guys are used to the new layout, I might add a new chat feature.

Your search produced a thread by Flip as Confused on 17th November, not in this forum, but "Off Topic".

I will therefore describe myself also as confused - could you please explain what words you used in the Search box to provide the required result and how many attempts did it take ?

I searched for "chat" using the Search button at the top of the screen. It is located between New Posts and Quick Links. There is also an advanced search option if you want to specifiy more detail.

Thank you.

I have just performed the same operation to see for myself - but would not have known that the simple entry of "chat" would produce what I wanted from another forum.
